The 2018 tour group has landed!
After early morning carpools, coffees and a pep-talk from UDV president Adam Jenkins, this years young farmer team has landed in its first home away from home – Christchurch.
On approach the team were greeted by not just Mount Cook, but a future host farm – Rakaia Island dairy, surrounded by the Rakaia river near the Canterbury coast.

After landing boots were checked, bags were claimed and it was all aboard the minibus to check in at the hotel.

The crew were in high spirits on arrival, unperturbed by the prospect of UDV policy councillor Matt Gleesons driving
The crew got to know each other over dinner and then collected provisions before retiring to prepare for farm visits and fun tomorrow!

Selection of milk for the mornings breakfasts caused pause for thought.
